India's cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 48th birthday today. Having spent 6 days in the hospital due to COVID-19, he’s currently recovering at home. As Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his birthday today, everyone from around the world poured in their wishes for the legendary cricketer via social media. His former teammates and cricketers such as Virat Kohli, Harbhajan Singh, Sourav Ganguly, Cheteshwar Pujara and others took to their social media to wish him.

Sachin Tendulkar’s former teammate Harbhajan Singh wished him on Twitter in Marathi. He tweeted, “प्रिय सचिन, वाढदिवसाच्या अनकोत्तम शुभेच्छा.  फॉर्म तात्कालिक, तर दर्जा चिरंतन असतो ही उक्ती तू सार्थ ठरवली अन करोनाला चीतपट केलेस. तू सदैव प्रेरणास्थान राहशील ! #HappyBirthdaySachin.” Along with the post, he also shared some precious memories with Sachin in the form of throwback pictures. The current Indian Cricket Team captain Virat Kohli also wished Sachin, who was one of his idols growing up. He tweeted, “One of the greatest to have ever played the game and an inspiration to many. Happy Birthday @sachin_rt paaji.”

Sachin started his international cricketing journey in 1989 as a 16 year old boy and soon made the world take notice of his talent and went on to become the highest run scorer in international cricket. Also his tally of 100 international centuries sits at the top of the list. He retired in 2013 from international cricket in an emotional farewell at Wankhede that made the whole country emotional. He also received Bharat Ratna- India’s highest civilian honour in 2013 and became the youngest recipient to receive the honour.
